These products have historically been supported on several disparate systems. This has caused duplication of effort with the inherent cost overhead and restricted the ability to develop new products. Solution Overview TIA has been chosen as part of the strategy to consolidate the insurer's retail systems applications across several lines of business supporting plans to create a £1bn premium business by 2013.
In 2008 TIA Technology was appointed as a core insurance solutions provider by this company and they will use the TIA product to support the requirements of the Retail division that manages the Motor, Home, Animal Health and Musical Instruments insurance books of business. ORIAC consultants were involved in the pre-analysis phase in partnership with the lead system integrator and subsequently contracted directly to provide resources to the design and build phases of the project.
Much of the development work is being done at a data centre in India. ORIAC resources are currently deployed in the UK working in design and architecture roles but have also been deployed to India to work with the development team.
The system will allow for fast configuration of product and pricing changes. The depth and breadth of TIA expertise provided by ORIAC consultants complements the customer's in-house capability creating an efficient and cost effect development resource.
